Ramstein Flag 2025 Multinational Air Combat Training at Leeuwarden Airbase - the Netherlands

Ramstein Flag 2025 (RAFL25) was NATO's premier multi-domain tactical air exercise, conducted from March 31 to April 11, 2025. Hosted by the Royal Netherlands Air Force at Leeuwarden Air Base, the exercise brought together over 2,000 personnel and more than 90 aircraft from 15 NATO member nations, operating across 12 allied air bases throughout Europe.
Seventeen NATO nations participated, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Sweden, Turkey, and the United States . The exercise featured a diverse array of aircraft, such as F-35 Lightning II, Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet, JAS 39 Gripen, and various support aircraft including tankers and airborne early warning systems.
RAFL25 reinforced NATO's commitment to collective defense and deterrence, particularly in the context of evolving security challenges. The exercise emphasized the alliance's ability to conduct complex operations across multiple domains, ensuring readiness to respond to potential threats in the Euro-Atlantic region.
