BELGIAN AIR FORCE DAYS 2023 " Join the new generation "

During the weekend of September 9 and 10, 2023, the Ministry of Defense organized the Belgian Air Force Days (BAF-Days). Prior to the BAF-Days, a spottersday was organized on September 8. Throughout these days, visitors could admire various military and civilian aircraft from different European countries. An impressive collection of aircraft in the Static Display allowed visitors to view them up close, while experienced pilots demonstrated the limits of possibilities in the sky. Multiple generations were represented, from historical to current and near-future aircraft. In addition to all these flight performances, visitors could also explore the interactive stands, which were almost everywhere. The focus during the BAF-Days was, of course, on recruitment: attracting a new generation for new missions. The Belgian Air Force is undergoing a transformation that enables it to further develop as a reliable ally, supported by a new range of possibilities. Additionally, the A400M has been tested and proven. The search for a successor to the SF-260 Marchetti as a training aircraft is ongoing, the expansion of helicopter capacity is progressing smoothly, and a turning point is imminent with the arrival of the state-of-the-art F-35 as a replacement for the F-16.
