European premiere of the USAF F-35 Lightning II Demo Team

During the 43rd International Sanicole Airshow, which will take place on September 10th and 11th at the grounds of Aeroclub Sanicole in Hechtel-Eksel, the Belgian public will be able to see for the first time the capabilities of the F-35 Lightning II, which will come to replace the Belgian Air Force's F-16 over the coming years.

Sanicole fully committed to experience

In 2022, Sanicole is again going full throttle for the total experience. On the grounds, the organization plans an extensive and beautiful shopping boulevard with all sorts of aviation souvenirs, a kids' zone with a stunning range of free entertainment adapted to different ages and an impressive collection of aircraft on the ground. The whole is complemented by a Sky-Watch and the necessary experience terraces where visitors can enjoy the varied catering offerings in comfort.

75 years of U.S. Air Force is celebrated in style

In a program brimming with premieres, the U.S. F-35 demo team is the absolute eye-catcher. Airshow director Geoffrey Buekenberghs: "The F-35 has been on our wish list for years and we are particularly proud that we have succeeded in presenting this top team at our show. Moreover, the F-35 will also join a P-51 Mustang for a special commemorative flight in honor of the 75th anniversary of the US Air Force, the central theme of our 2022 show. It is the first time USAF Heritage Flight will perform in Belgium."

The Magic of Sunset

On Sunday, doors open at 8 a.m. and flight demonstrations begin at 10 a.m. There is also the sunset airshow on Saturday, which is becoming increasingly popular with the public. On Saturday, the doors open at 3 p.m. and flying begins around 5 p.m. Says Geoffrey, "A sunset airshow is magical and continues to fascinate visitors and participants alike."

The Sanicole airshow again guarantees a total spectacle in the air and on the ground. Geoffrey: "Jet fighters, old-timers, helicopters, jet patrols, aerial acrobatics, transport planes and parachutists ... Just about all facets of aviation will be featured. Our partners from the Belgian Air Force will also have a special place in the program." With the Turkish Stars of the Turkish Air Force and the Saudi Hawks of the Saudi Air Force, the Sanicole Airshow again presents 2 renowned jet patrols.
